How do I turn off audio comping in the arranger? (in: Bitwig)

if Loop toggle and ‘cycle’ are both toggled off in my arrange window and Bitwig still doesn’t stop; where else does it need to be turned off?

<<If you want to avoid looping while recording just turn off the loop toggle.

So far the quickest most fool proof method for me is drawing out an hour+ long marker bar (or longer than I need) to recreate linear timeline behaviour from Logic ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
