Help with new anti-aliasing modes – DCS 2.9
The Graphics Update FAQ post does mention TAA, but you are right, there is no mention specifically of DLAA.
Both are pretty much the same thing though. DLAA is just a nVidia specific version which has better performance on nVidia GPU’s.
If you really want a deep dive into Temporal Anti-Aliasing, I would suggest looking it up on the net. A TLDR version would be a form of anti-aliasing that samples each pixel once and compares that sample with the previous frame to help hide aliasing or jaggies.
TAA does a really good job of getting rid of jaggies with much better performance compared to multi sampling (MSAA), but the down side is it causes some ghosting (smearing) with fast motion. It can also cause anomalies with transparencies.
