A huge part of this song (and all like it) is the groove of the playing. Your groove is pretty flat. With a flat groove, it won’t matter how you mix it, it will feel flat. Matter of fact the more you push it, the worse it gets, making you think (and people say) you need more Insert Process X, Y, Z.
