Gun Shipments Intercepted, NJ Firearms Trafficker Charged: Feds

PATERSON, NJ — Federal officials indicted a convicted felon on multiple firearms offenses after saying they seized dozens of weapons, including machine guns and 3D-printed “ghost” guns, from his Paterson residence.

Authorities had intercepted multiple weapons shipments that were sent to 36-year-old Mikhail Gouldson during an investigation into possible firearms trafficking, said U.S. Attorney John Giordano.

“After searching Gouldson’s residence, law enforcement recovered large quantities of firearms and ammunition, as well as 3D printing equipment,” Giordano said.

Gouldson faces one count each of of dealing in firearms without a license, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of machine guns, possession of unregistered firearms, and attempted trafficking in firearms. He was charged on a criminal complaint and has yet to be arraigned, officials said Monday.

Investigators also recovered machine gun conversion devices, firearm silencers, short-barreled rifles, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and a 3D printer in his residence, Giordano’s office said.

Gouldson faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison for the possession of firearms and ammunition by a convicted felon and attempted trafficking charges, 10 years for possession of machine guns and unregistered firearms, and five years for dealing firearms without a license. Each of those charges carries a maximum fine of $250,000.
