Getting the MIDI output from a pattern DIGITAKT2 – Digitakt
I believe that you’ll need to change the audio track to a midi track and of course configure for midi output, then the trigs on that track will send midi notes, but be aware that the trig values (ie the actual notes set from the trig page) will be the output.
So, if your samples are chromatic in recording only and not by product of trig settings, then you’ll get something like placeholders, as they should align with the grid correctly, but the output will be whatever the trig locked note or track note is set to, depending on how you have it currently arranged.
If all the notes in your pattern are C5 on the trig page, all the output will be C5 midi notes.
I’m not using DT2 yet though so I can’t test it, but this is what I’ve read. On DT1 you’d have to copy the trigs to a midi track, but on DT2 it seems you can change your audio track to a midi track and retain the existing trigs so that’s what you’d want to do.
