Functional Benchmarks for 3DMark AMD FSR 2 that are based on FSR 2.2 are compared to FSR 2.2’s performance and visuals

3DMark has added support for the most recent AMD FSR 2 functional test, which allows you to see GPU performance and visuals in one go. The company has already released the DLSS 3 feature set in its test suite.

The AMD FSR Functional Benchmark evaluates AMD FSR 2’s performance and image quality against the traditional temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) techniques.

The AMD FSR functional test includes a 3DMark Frame Inspector tool to check image quality with an interactive side-by-side comparison of FSR rendering and native resolution. Below is an example comparing the AMD FSR functional test using traditional rendering and TAA with the same frame using AMD FSR technology.

The 3DMark FSR feature test simulates a Speed Way scene twice, demonstrating the effect of AMD FSR 2’s technology on performance and image quality. Other DirectX 12 Ultimate features such as DirectX ray tracing are disabled.

The first run measures baseline performance by rendering the scene with TAA at the desired output resolution. The second run renders the scene at a lower resolution, then scales the frames to the desired output resolution.
