Note that you can shift+doubleclick a clip to open its editor in a floating window. That way you can stack several editors vertically and do parallel editing.

I agree it would be nice if this editing method would get a more streamlined/automated option so to make it easy to select some clips and open their stacked editors with synced time bars.

I understand there also is the idea of layering editors, i.e. 1 editor is active and others are shown in the background. Can’t comment on that for now …
