FFmpeg Audio Extractor Arrives for AROS
FFmpeg Audio Extractor is now available from AROS Archives. The new utility converts audio files and extracts soundtracks from video files supported by FFmpeg. It gives AROS users a direct graphical interface for common audio processing tasks.
The program supports video formats such as MP4, AVI, MKV, MOV, WMV, FLV, WebM, MPEG, 3GP, OGV, M4V, XL, and CDXL. Users can save extracted audio in formats including WAV, MP3, AAC, FLAC, and OGG.
Audio Conversion Options
FFmpeg Audio Extractor can convert many audio formats supported by FFmpeg. Compatible sources include WMA, M4A, APE, ALAC, DTS, AC3, AIFF, OPUS, MP2, AMR, and TrueHD.
MP3 and AAC output includes selectable bitrate settings. The program provides a volume adjustment control before conversion or extraction. These options let users prepare audio for playback, editing, storage, or transfer to another system.
The interface was created and compiled natively for AROS 64-bit v11. An AROS One 68K version has been tested, though conversion runs slower on 68K hardware.
Source Code Included
The download archive contains the program’s source code. Developers can study the project, submit suggestions, or create their own improvements. Feedback and feature requests can be posted through the AROSWorld forum.
FFmpeg Audio Extractor fills a missing software category for AROS. It places several FFmpeg audio functions inside one focused desktop utility without requiring users to enter command-line instructions.
Readers can download FFmpeg Audio Extractor from AROS Archives and visit the AROSWorld discussion for development notes. Which audio or video format would you test first?
