Fatten It Up (in: Production Technique…)

Fattens up I understand: Higher RMS, softer high-end, saturated low-end, slightly inflated low-end, slight compression.

I really recommend to find a plugin that has saturation, compression, EQ and dry/wet in the same interface so you can carve the sound to your own desire and then blend that with the dry signal.

My favorite for this is GoodHertz Tupe. But any plugin with a good tape emulation inside and other elements mentioned earlier will do :).
