ESP Audio Vertex
VERTEX is a dynamic-range compressor with no voice of its own. It reduces dynamics and shows you exactly what it did, which is all it sets out to do.
Five controls: Gain (-50 to +10 dB), Threshold (-60 to 0 dB), Ratio (1.0 to 10.0), Attack (0.1 to 100 ms) and Release (10 to 500 ms). The transfer curve redraws while you move Threshold and Ratio, so the knee you are dialling in is on screen instead of in your head. Input and output meters sit side by side over a -60 to 0 dB scale, which puts the gain you are giving back next to the gain you took away.
