emacs – How to preserve MathJax/LaTeX formatting converting from md to org
If I get a mathematical answer from Google Gemini, I can choose copy, then paste it into Emacs. At this point it’s presumably markdown, so I save it as somemath.md. When I look at it, it has all the math stuff surrounded properly with $, e.g., $a \land b$. But when I run pandoc on this, e.g.,
pandoc --mathjax -f markdown -t org ImpliesStrongWeak.md -o ISW1.org
…or something similar, it gives me a quasi-org file, but with all the good “$” encasings changed to \( and \), e.g., \(a \land b\). It’s not a huge problem to just replace all the slash-parens with dollar signs for proper math symboling, but it would be nice to have pandoc handle this properly … or I’m missing something?
