Easily reproducible VEP crash with Cubase 7.5.4 – happens every day

I have a master running Cubase and slave running VEP. Every night I put my computers to sleep.

Next day I wake them up and ofcourse Cubase has lost connections with VEP Slave though it shows connected on the VEP slave. 

So I disconnect forcefully in the slave. All good so far.

Then I try to reconnect from Cubase VEP plugin and it just hangs. If there are 4 instances, it connects 3 and hangs on 4. It’s random but it certainly hangs EVERY time. Highly frustrating! Please help!

C7.5.4 on Win 7 x64, RME 9652 (Master)
