drivers – PipeWire audio problems
I use Ubuntu-Studio 24.04.2 LTS inside computers with the following specs:
Motherboard: MS-7788 (H61M-P20).
CPU: Intel Core i5 at 3 MHz (LGA 1155 socket).
Memory: 8 GB RAM.
HHD: 1TB.
Motherboard Included Audio Card: Realtek ALC887.
Even the audio specs tells we can use up 192000 samples per second, up 32 bits per sample, with today PipeWire server I only can use up 44100 samples per second to get full clean audio (without clicks, pops, stuttering, unwanted time delay, etc.).
Even more, I tested the exactly same machine with MS-Windows 10 (with all original factory drivers) and I could use the audio (and video) facilities up to its maximum capabilities without any problem!!!
Up the time Ubuntu-Studio development team decided to start to use PipeWire I didn’t have any kind of audio/video problems with these computers.
SO… It is obvious something bad/wrong inside PipeWire.
My only questions are…
Can we fix it?
Is there some fix to this?
Can we full remove PipeWire from our computers, without collateral problems?
Is there any full solution “on the way” we have to wait for it? ???
