Differences Between Envelope Module Models (in: Bitwig)

There are three models for the envelope module (ADSR) in the grid: analog, relative, and digital.
Analog has fixed shape curves, and nonlinearities according to the manual. What are nonlinearities? Does that just refer to the shape of the curves not being linear?
Digital I believe is the most exact, the shape of the curves and timing being exactly how you set them.
