Better intonation, can you expand on that?

Yes, I like the idea of doubling just a few strings.
I saw another 300-series 8-string, string 3 and 4 were dual like on 12-string.

If 10-15 years ago I looked at some Yamaha 8-string, was also two dual strings.

I was at an afterski in the 80’s, and was fascinated by a player and that 8-string he had.
– as I recall string 4-5, or 5-6 were dual, could be wrong

But that is rather perfect, I think, and the way he used it. Stroke separately quite a bit …
