bouncing stems Ableton Live 10

As a producer and learning more things over time I see a lot of people recommend using sends/returns & groups because of the flexibility, variety, organizational purposes, depth, less cpu usage, etc. (list goes on and on) that they can add to a mix (and I have been).

Now that I want to send my mixes to a professional studio, I feel a little discouraged about using sends/returns because people say that the bounce of a mix (stems) won’t come out the same when you use sends/returns & groups (is this true for tracks that use sends/returns & group effects when bouncing them?). So basically I feel like the mix engineer I end up sending my song to won’t hear the same flavor of the mix that I was happy due to the nature of bouncing stems.

Can someone please help me explain this because it still trips me up.

Is there a step in the process I’m missing or a compromise to avoid all of this disconnect between producer’s final product and what the engineer hears right off the bat? I hope I’m explaining myself properly here. Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.
