Boss GX-100 update – Guitars Forum

I can’t really compare quality because I only have the GX-100. I have seen videos comparing amps between the two (stock cabinets only) where there is a difference and in some cases I liked one and some cases I liked the others. I haven’t seen any comparisons made with similar amps and the same IRs that have come out after the update.

There are still a few effects the GT-1000 has that the GX-100 does not. The GT has a few delay modes (Echoplex, Binson, SDE-1000, Warm, Glitch, DD-20), a few chorus modes (CE-1 chorus and vibrato) , a dual mode for Reverb, and a Mastering FX effect.

The GX does not have a 2×2 chorus, but you can duplicate that on the GX using the Dual mode. The GT does not have a Dual mode on the chorus, so that’s a point in favor of the GX

Also, since the GT is block based and the GX is effect based, you can have combinations of effects in the GX that you can’t have in the GT. You can’t use a reverb and Tera echo simultaneously in the GT, but you could in the GX. You couldn’t have reverb on two separate paths in the GT, but you could in the GX.
