Bitwig – 3rd party devices as Bitwig native plugins now possible – Hosts & Applications (Sequencers, DAWs, Audio Editors, etc.) Forum

This has been easy to do with AI for quite a while. It’s not really cool for the users though, as it means much more chance of breaking the DAW (not officially tested) and random code in there (whilst Nitro is compiled, there may be possibilities to cause havoc).

It would be really nice if Nitro was Open Source, or a similar API was available for user devices – I’ve been wanting that for a long time – but Reverse Engineering the devices is not particularly hard or new, and likely just makes things *worse* for the consumer long-term.

I guess some people care about publicity over integrity.
