Battery-Boosting Sensors : low-power sensor

Murata, a world-renowned leader in the design and manufacturing of electronic components, has proceeded with the introduction of the MRMS166R and MRMS168R low power sensors, which are able to operate on exceptionally low current levels that make them ideal for applications such as health care and Internet of Things environments where the compactness of power sources can act as a mitigating factor for battery life.

What distinguishes the sensors is their ability to handle magnetic switching without mechanical components. This is possible by the ability to detect the presence of a magnetic field and generate signals that allow devices to shift between active and sleep modes, helping reduce standby energy use.

The components are built for integration into small devices such as medical patches, capsule endoscopes and wearable electronics.
