This looks like artifact of the Y-axis scale of whatever thing you’re using to view the asymmetric waveform.
The amplification is linear. (Envelopes can’t affect a waveform in a way that treats positive and negative parts separately, since they’re a scalar value over time, at least in any system that I’ve ever seen.)
