Audio file to piano roll – Tracktion Forum

Question isn’t clear. You have a MIDI file in Piano roll and wish to play a piano as the instrument? (easy enough to do, you really just need a Piano VST of some kind, or the Micro sampler with piano samples). You can’t directly just “use a piano audio file” directly as an instrument, though – easier to use a piano VST of some kind. Lots of free ones.

Or better, find an .SF2 soundfont file, which somebody has already taken instruments and multi-sampled them as a library. Lots of free ones around as well.
