ATKTransientSplitter | SoundShockAudio

ATKTransientSplitter is a mono dynamics utility that separates an incoming signal into transient and sustain components. Instead of only making attacks louder or softer, it gives producers a way to isolate the short impact portion of a sound from the body that follows it.

The control set is technical and reflects the Audio ToolKit DSP roots: RMS window size, attack and release timing, fraction controls, threshold, slope, and knee softness. That makes it better suited to experimental routing, sound design, and careful drum editing than to quick one-knob enhancement.

Use it when you want to process a drum hit’s click separately from its ring, preserve attack while compressing a sustain layer, or send transient and body information into different effect chains. Because the plugin is mono and the public builds are old, it should be tested in a modern host before it becomes part of a repeatable mix template.

The original Audio Toolkit product URL now appears to be parked, but the developer-published SourceForge project still exposes an exact ATKTransientSplitter files folder. KVR and Plugins4Free both list the plugin as a free/open-source Windows and macOS effect, while forum discussion around transient splitting supports its niche use as a split-processing tool rather than a broad transient designer.
