It’s where projects made with the VST2 can be opened with the VST3 version with all settings and automation intact
In the case of Arcsyn, it did actually support migration perfectly between the 4.03 VST2 and VST3 but with the 4.04 beta everything changed and broke the ability to migrate from projects made with 4.03 (specifically for me patches saved as NKS in Komplete Kontrol but now I have redone them all anyway so less of an issue)
