ADSRs suck (Ping/Percussion envelope) (in: DSP and Plugin Devel…)

This has my curiosity. Why has no one made use of this as an alternative to ADSR on a commercial synth? I don’t like ADSRs, but they are a good to have in the toolkit for their “[s]ease[/s] speed of use”. I know my ping envelope is good for percussion, and I also don’t mean to coin the term ping envelope, I don’t mean say I’m the first to do this. I’d be interesting in the code behind percussion synthesis transient shaping and decays.
