23DSP 1-Wobble
1-Wobble is a single-control effect designed to emulate the mechanical instabilities and modulation characteristics of analog tape and vintage playback devices.
The processing chain combines several modulation and tone-shaping stages:
- Wow & Flutter: Dual low-frequency oscillators modulate delay time independently for left and right channels, creating subtle or pronounced pitch variations.
- Chorus Layer: Adds a slow, phase-shifted modulation between 10–20 ms for stereo depth and mild diffusion.
- Saturation: Applies a non-linear soft-clipping stage with a drive amount linked to the control knob.
- Stereo Movement: A very low-frequency panning modulation introduces gradual width changes over time.
The single knob controls all parameters proportionally, from nearly static at low settings to strong modulation at maximum. The dry/wet balance follows a progressive curve to maintain natural blending at any setting.
