java – Eclipse showing target folder files in upstaged changes

This has start happening for me. When I switch to my local master branch I see my target folder files in unstaged changes. I tried adding a new .gitingore file but when I switch to this branch in java perspective the project is unusable. Other people in team are not having this issue so looks like its just isolated to me. I have tried removing the repository/project and importing again but same thing happening. Any ideas on how this can be resolved
