The heart of the internet

Been deciding on upgrading my setup and finally installing OpenWrt. I have a pair of TP Link Archer A7 v5, but a little worried about the longevity of them at this point. They’re also WiFi 5 and I’m wondering if I should upgrade that…

A lot of people have recommended NanoPi, which is tempting, but I get a lot of recommendations for the R6S. I don’t even have Gigabit internet so I wonder if I really need 2.5G(or newer WiFi standards for that matter). Was thinking of the Banana Pi R3 as that seems to fit my needs. Are the NanoPi’s that much of a step up if I don’t use them to their full capabilities?

Edit: Just realized the R3 has SFP ports, still might not be something I need so might not be the thing to get…
