How to ignore Json response field/value or enable escape characters to allow the values

I am getting the below error in the rest receiver channel .

MP: exception caught with cause java.lang.RuntimeException: com.ctc.wstx.exc.WstxIOException: Invalid white space character (0x2) in text to output (in xml 1.1, could output as a character entity

As per my analysis , I have observed that there is an escape character “&” ambrasand coming from json response field “comments”.

“comments”:”EFT contains an invalid character in the description this must be corrected for the eft & invoice to process correctly. Model: JGK/4, S/N: F\u0002338 .

We dont need to send this to back to SAP as there is no field mapping . I just want to ignore this field and its value when trying to convert from JSON to XML . I have tried with below options but no luck . Can someone help me in this.
