So…it’s all quiet, next update about to drop? – Page 30 – Bitwig Forum

The usual model:
Pay once when a worthy update is published and then you are cover until the next update for fixes and minor additions.

So, if that xyz company develop A B C D E features, you’ll need to wait for those until the next upgrade date, which can be years in the making…. And of course you know the usual update cost more or less. You don’t need to pay a penny until then.

Now, Bitwig “offers” a different approach that if well understood it may be way better, or not according to your personal paradigm.

Bitwig develop A B C D E features but instead of keep them until a major upgrade cycle, they offer them as they come and if you are with a valid post paid period of 1 year, you get some of those features, or you are willing, freely, to pay to keep current you get them year after year.

Now, if you “absolutely” need those A B C D E features (which after a year period you probably getting A B and some) then, of your choice, you pay another year maintenance. Be aware that you are not forced to do so and you can wait a major cycle like you would with the other xyz company, if you don’t want to pay yearly, and actually it would cost you less than the xyz deal.

If you feel that, after the usual 2 or 3 and sometimes more years from xyz, you getting more than if you wait the same amount of time with Bitwig, you may elect to complain BUT if you follow xyz model then you just pay $149 (average on the net) for the same waiting time period and, according to historical facts, Bitwig deliver a lot more stuff in that long 2 or 3 years period.

So….
