XLN AUDIO RC 20 V2 released – Page 4 – Effects Forum

I tried it out too, but I think I’ll have to hold off on updating for now.
I really like Lossy, the new filter types, and Varispeed, but from a sound design perspective, I’m a little disappointed at the moment.
Being able to apply separate modules to each Echo or scrub through them is cool, but I didn’t find it as fun to experiment with sounds as I do with plugins like Kazu, Snap Heap, Pedal Lab(HZE) or Infiltrator.
To me, that wasn’t what made RC-20 special in the first place. Of course, I can see myself using it as a tone shaper with more options, but after testing it a few times, having more choices didn’t really feel like an advantage to me.
If they had released a version 1.9 with the original V1 interface, but with Lossy and the new filter types added, I would have bought it and stuck with that version.
I know it might seem unfair to say all this about a $20 upgrade after spending thousands of dollars over the years collecting some of the best plugins available. But RC-20 is one of those plugins that has remained a part of my projects for years, so I guess my expectations were just too high before I got the chance to try it.
I just feel like V1 has lost some of its charm of making great sounds quickly with limited options, while still lacking the endless sound design possibilities of rack plugins.
I used AI to help with the translation because English isn’t my first language, so I apologize if anything came across as offensive.
