null.audio null.audio ALIGN
ALIGN brings VocAlign’s ARA mode to Ableton Live. Live doesn’t support ARA, so without ALIGN every take has to be recorded into VocAlign in real time. null.audio runs an ARA host in the background and connects it to your clips in Live.
Press Set Guide on your lead, and ALIGN lists the clips that play with it. It ticks the doubles and harmonies by their track names (Dbl, Double, Harm, BGV, Adlib, Stack, Vox and more). Up to eight Dubs open in VocAlign together. One Apply puts each aligned Dub back on its own track, and your vocal chain stays intact. Revert puts the originals back, all of them or only the Dub you select.
That’s fewer steps than doing it by hand, even in a DAW with ARA. Every button can go on a key or a MIDI control, so a stack takes a few presses.
ALIGN also comes with Built-in (beta). It lines up the Dubs inside null.audio, with no plug-in to open. It doesn’t line up as well as VocAlign yet. In testing, three Dubs of seven and a half minutes each were aligned about 20 seconds after pressing Align:
- VocAlign in Ableton Live without recording each take in first.
- Doubles and harmonies found by track name, up to eight per Guide.
- Built-in (beta): align without a plug-in, up to eight minutes at a time.
- Apply puts each Dub back on its own track, with your vocal chain intact.
- Revert every Dub, or only one.
- Every button on a key or a MIDI control.
- Arrangement View, Ableton Live 12.3 or later, macOS and Windows.
Updates are included. Also available as ALIGN + EDIT (€69).
