State of the art? (in: Samplers, Sampling …)

I really haven’t paid much attention to the development in these areas myself either, but if you’ve been away a long time, the leap in progress is surely a great one. You have stuff like Spitfire, their orchestral stuff (sample based) and Vital is a free synth and is the free “version” of Serum. I’m sure someone more familiar with all this stuff could brief you better on these things and steer you in the right direction! Cheers! 🙂
