Most users prefer simplicity, but they dont realise what they’re doing by using typical installers. Once portable software is set up, its done, never needs doing again unless something happens that drastically changes the program. Installing software means something is always running in the background, some service or whatever, quietly using resources to keep you up to date with the latest security whatnot, etc. It slows your PC down acting as a resource hog. My PC runs top notch now 3 years old…
