Official Linux packages come as a Flatpak on Flathub and as a PPA covering Ubuntu 24.04 and later. Other installation routes, including community-maintained packages, are listed here.

If Flatpak support is not enabled on your distribution yet, follow the setup steps here.

Ubuntu Instructions (24.04+)

Install OBS Studio on Ubuntu from the official PPA with these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio
sudo apt update
sudo apt install obs-studio
