Question regarding disabling developer options

Enabling developer options and disabling it apparently turns off tethering hardware acceleration, which is normally enabled by default.

I really want to use hardware acceleration for tethering as I tether quite frequently.

Is this fixed in GOS?
If not, is there a way I can re-enable it after turning off developer options?

Yes I am very aware having Developer options enabled is a security & stability risk. I switched it on before I knew the risks and issues with it.

No I’m not willing to go through the process of factory resetting my device as of this time. Would love to know an alternative as setting up my phone again would take me quite some time.
