Only thing I can think of is updating your motherboard’s BIOS first, but I’d expect that’s only necessary if the board was released before the (exact) CPU model you’re looking at.

If you do need to update the BIOS and its settings go back to default, the only obvious change you’d need make from those factory defaults that I can think of is re-enabling XMP (or AMD equivalent) so your memory can run at its advertised speed.
