Prerequisites and Supported Platforms
This topic lists the prerequisites and supported platforms for VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ on Kubernetes.

Prerequisites
Helm and Carvel are mutually exclusive options for installing the VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ Operators.
Required Software and Access
- Kubernetes cluster: Kubernetes v1.29 or later
- cert-manager: v1.5.0 or later installed in your cluster
- kubectl: A version compatible with your Kubernetes cluster (see kubectl documentation)
- Helm: v3.9 or later

Carvel tools:
ytt: v0.52.2 or laterkbld: v0.47.0 or laterkapp: v0.65.0 or laterimgpkg: v0.47.0 or later

Broadcom Support access: Required to acquire the VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ Helm chart or Carvel bundle and operator images, and RabbitMQ image.

Sufficient cluster resources: Ensure your cluster has enough memory and CPU for the requested resources.

Sufficient cluster nodes: Ensure there are enough nodes to support all RabbitMQ servers.
Supported Kubernetes Versions
The VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ Operators have been tested on Kubernetes v1.29 to v1.32.

These Kubernetes platforms support VMware Tanzu RabbitMQ on Kubernetes:
- VMware vSphere Kubernetes Service (VKS)
- Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
- Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Red Hat OpenShift
- Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG)
