Kick/Sub movement… (in: Production Technique…)

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to figure out how the sub movement in this track was done (not so much the kick itself). I’ll link the original song and I’ll also link a very short, filtered clip just for reference. In my clip, you’ll first hear the kick, followed by the kick + sub. (Pretty subby so turn down speakers).

I’m trying to figure out exactly what’s driving that rapid sub movement. Is this just sidechaining, or an LFO modulating volume, pitch, or filter? Or some combo of both? Sounds li…
