KB5074109 makes Nvidia GeForce card unusable

Security update KB5074109 has made my Nvidia 2047MB GeForce GTX 960M unusable. After installing that update any* program run from that GPU hangs on opening. If I try to open the Task Manager while this is going on, the Task Manager itself crashes (!)

The first time the problem occurred the computer was on 24H2. I uninstalled the update right away and everything went back to normal. I paused updates. Yesterday, having updated manually to 25H2 and updated the Nvidia driver to the latest version 582.28, I re-started updates in the hope the issue would’ve been fixed. KB5074109 installed itself right away and, once again, I am unable to run any* programs using the Nvidia card. The same programs open fine if I run them using the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 (although performance is not the same, obviously).

It seems clear the problem is KB5074109, and affects many people with Nvidia cards. Is this going to be solved in the February updates?

Is it better to unisntall it before February updates? KB5074109 is no longer available for uninstalling but I understand that if I uninstall KB5074105, which is available for uninstall, then KB5074109 will become available for uninstall.

Also, some people report installing out of band update KB5077744 may fix the issue, any info or experience with that?
*EDIT: the only app that is still able to use the GPU is Google Chrome
