There’s a ‘presence’ knob. Usually that’s subtle EQ, and that’s a typical “preamp” thing.
Also the 12AX7 is not a “power” tube, but an ideal preamp tube to overdrive.

I don’t think you’ll find any amp with only a EL34 power stage. There’s always a 12AX7 preamp stage which converts your “line” in to something hotter already to drive the power stage. It may…
