Open Source Alternative for REX Files – DSP and Plugin Development Forum
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in collaborating on an open-source alternative to the REX (.rex / .rx2) format.
Since Propellerhead’s REX technology isn’t openly licensed and proper implementation requires paid access, it might be time for a community-driven format for sliced audio with tempo/stretch info and per-slice metadata.

The goal:
• A royalty-free, documented, and cross-platform format
• Support for multichannel audio and MIDI slice mapping
Would anyone here be up for brainstorming or prototyping something like this?
