Tonex vs. Tonex (in: Guitars)

I was going though all my Tonex stomp boxes (so many great ones) and then I took the 1979 Guitar Hero MXR+ capture and brought it into Amplitube… and I notice it sounds quite different. I spent a lot of time messing with levels, and I can’t get them to be similar, no matter what I do to match the gain settings. Has anyone else noticed this? From what I can tell, it sounds better to run the Tonex plugin in front of Amplitube, than to run the Tonex capture inside of Amplitube. Could they be usin…
