Confused about the Q on TDR Nova during compression. A couple questions (in: Tokyo Dawn Labs)

When im compressing, outside of the desinated Q also gets compressed. So like, when using Peak filter, if I narrow the Q to 12 and set it on 9,000 hertz. The Q aka the blue looks like it’ll only effect very close to the 9,000. But when I watch the graph to see what gets compressed, the compression/yellow will expand PAST the blue Q lines looking like its compressing more than the Q.

So im a little confused. Is outside the Q/blue actually getting compressed like the graph shows? Or is only INSID…
