I just installed Manjaro Release [Archive]

I am quite impressed with this version. The installer was relatively easy to follow (step by step, in lieu of spoke). I chose the gnome version, which installed with Manjaro icon themes. I set them back to gnome defaults and to light background screens. Manjaro has xfce and kde versions.

I cleared a 100gig partition and told the installer to use it. It created a single / folder. This was somewhat disappointing as I would have expected /, /home, /boot as does Fedora. But I did have the option to do my own partitioning. Next time I will try to emulate Fedora.

There was no vi, vim and gcc installed. One needs to use one of the supported installers. One installer resembles yum-gui Its pretty good. Manjaro does come with gparted, Thunderbird, the Gnome tweak tool, and a large group of Gnome extensions — extensions that I make use of, within Fedora. What was supplied is what I normally add to Fedora for my needs. Its like great minds think alike (but small minds seldom differ).

The Linux and firefox versions are current. Libreoffice is being installed from “Fresh”, I think that Gnome is version 3.22. The pending Fedora26 is using Gnome 3.24. All I know is that I have not encountered any little bugs (buglets).

I have F26 on another partition and will dual the setups to determine which of the two I like best. I am most familiar with Fedora which implies that I will not change four quarters for a dollar.
