Questions about sequencer/pattern edito (in: Apisonic Labs)

I’m trying to learn how to use the sequencer/pattern editor and have a couple of questions.
1) How do I create a new pattern or pattern bank from scratch? There doesn’t seem to be a ‘New’ option anywhere.
2) How do I create a pattern with something other than 16, 32 or 64 steps? At the moment it seems I have to create a pattern with more steps than I actually want and then manually change every value in the right hand ‘Row Num Steps’ fields individually – which is a pain if I have 32 instrume…
