DAW parameter automation is very important and the earlier suggestion to look at how it is done in Omnisphere is definitely the way to go based on my experience. Omnisphere patches can have literally thousands of possible parameters so it is not practical or even possible to just make them all available for automation. Spectrasonics solved this brilliantly.
