If there is a nonlinearity in a filter’s feedback path, its cutoff frequency may – to a small degree – depend on signal levels, most obviously resonance. That’s true for analogue filters just like it is for their digital counterparts. Turn a Minimoog’s emphasis knob beyond self oscillation and the frequency will drop by several semitones.
