Azure SQL to Fabric – Microsoft Q&A

I’m thinking to move to Fabric from the below set up. Have the following questions.

We currently use ADF to extract data from netsuite via selfhosted VM (odbc)

+

Provisioned Azure SQL for data processing data into facts and dimensions (3 independent fact tables + 10 dimensions). DB size is around 550GB. Total GB allocated 950GB.

Lets says just for numbers sake – existing set up costs $1000 per month.

Q1 – Does moving to fabric would cost more for same size db as Azure SQL? im thinking of Lakehouse set up (dont want spark cluster set up)? like SQL endpoints which can connect to mgmt studio and write SPs

(not notebooks).

Q2- Does fabric have the ability to connect directly to Netsuite application or do we need to set up similar to existing set up self hosted vm – odbc to netsuite?

Q3 – Currently im able to scale up and down db via ADF using ALTER DATABASE [mydbname] MODIFY (SERVICE_OBJECTIVE = ‘GP_Gen5_20’) to scales up – both dev and prod.

Is this available in fabric? what would be the equivalent of this? i dont want the auto scale option.

Q4 – i know in database, tables dont get corrupted. would fabric sql tables which are in turn lakehouse tables would they get corrupted?

Thanks
