Extracting Nested Array Values for Subsequent API Calls
To retrieve values from nested arrays in an HTTP response for use in the next API call, you can use the “Field Paths to Return” option in our HTTP API integration. Here’s how:
1. In your HTTP API column settings, locate the “Field Paths to Return” field.
2. Use dot notation to specify the paths to the nested items you want to retrieve. For example: “object1.object2.name” for nested objects, or “array1[0].nestedArray[1]” for nested arrays.
3. Separate multiple field paths with commas.
This approach allows you to extract specific nested values from complex JSON responses. If you’re experiencing any JSON-related issues, please copy and paste your JSON into the chat so we can troubleshoot further.
