What is the issue with companies not updating their plugins sold through Splice? (in: Effects)

They have to add the ‘pay go protection’ so that the software de-activates if you stop paying so it’s a different build of the software. Companies aren’t going to delay their main release to keep the two in sync, and might not bother doing at all with minor point releases.
